It worked!!

The birthday rainbow cake was a success!! I'm so pleased (and relieved). Holly was very excited and cutting it was a bit scary as I had lots of people looking on, but it turned out even better than I had hoped. Phew!! : )
(Gel/paste food colourings are amazing and well worth the money, and edible glitter is too good to resist, as you can see I certainly didn't, the top of the cake was super glittery!!) Well, you are only 9 once!)

Your cake is really lovely. Better not show it to Sophie. Our birthday bash is on Sunday due to a craft fayre on Saturday. She is actually 9 on 9th of November. Where has the time gone! She was coming up 5 when I started my blog Double figures next year and I am going to try a number 10 cake, got plenty of time to practice.
Happy Birthdya Holly!

Woweeee!! I've never attempted something so complicated; it would be so rewarding to cut into that! And glitter topping? What could be better? Happy Birthday to Holly.
