sneeky peek

This is a small part of a new project I have been working on, hopefully it will get finished at the weekend. And am I glad that it will soon be here. We have had a super busy week of needing to do extra things for Holly to take to school, they have had a maths week and it is end of term so we have had to: 1 - make a model out of junk and decorate it, and be able to talk about all the shapes you can see in it (Holly and Stuart did this one, they made a rocket out of an old tube) 2 - make cakes/biscuits for the end of term cake sale (rabbit shaped ginger cookies - they sound nicer than they look) and this is the best one: 3 - make a costume (yes, another one) that is to do with maths, either numbers or shapes. hmmmm... our first idea was for Holly to spend all day standing straight with her arms by her side as a number one, which she quite liked the idea of but wasn't very practical. So we ended up buying a cheap white top and getting out my fabric paints, and we both painted numbers all over it. It ended up looking quite good, and it was nice that she could help make it. So now I can breathe a small sigh of relief as she is wearing the costume, the rocket went to school yesterday, and the biscuits are on a plate ready to go. Phew. : )

Holly's teacher keeps you hoppin'. Nothing like homework for the parents, too.

I like the dimensional look of the new piece you're working on...can't wait to see it finished.

Love the new project -- the colors are wonderful. I can't wait to see the finished project! I am an empty-nester and miss the days of hurry/scurry when my two were little. Enjoy every minute of it while you can!!!!!
